The bathtub is not just for relaxing at the end of a stressful week, it’s also a great way to get a head start on your day! Citrus scents such as grapefruit, lime and mandarin infuse your bath or shower with uplifting scents that are just as effective at waking you up as a cup of strong coffee.
Lemon is also associated with cleanliness and has invigorating properties. Grapefruit is an ideal staple item if you were partying the night before. Just a little grapefruit oil (4-6 drops) added to your bath water eliminates toxins from the body and is an excellent way to get you going on a sluggish morning.
The citrus oil is essentially squeezed from the grapefruit peel and the tangy invigorating smell is great for brightening your mood and is thought to have antidepressant properties. In addition to the grapefruit, adding 3 drops of basil to your bath is also a good way to stimulate the brain.
